Where To Stay

and things to do during your stay
 Accomodations in the area:

As this is also Ukrainian Festival weekend, we recommend booking rooms ASAP as we were unable to reserve any blocks of rooms at this time.

It may be necessary to book outside of Dauphin. If it becomes difficult to reserve hotel rooms in town, we suggest booking in Clear Lake, MB as it is only a short drive through Riding Mountain National Park to Dauphin.
While You're Here:

Canada's National Ukrainian Festival

You don’t have to be Ukrainian to love perogies and borscht! Dauphin’s rich Ukrainian heritage comes alive to share it with the world every August long weekend at Selo Ukraina, as it hosts Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival. It celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2010 and keeps people coming back with its showcase of Ukrainian culture: food, dance, music, ceremonies, arts, crafts, and of course, the people! The Selo Ukrainia site also boasts a Ukrainian Heritage Village, Memorial Park, and the Ukrainian Musicians Hall of Fame. Dauphin’s own Canada’s National Riding & Dancing Cossacks and Zirka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble are perennial favorites, but world famous Shumka Dancers and European superstars Ruslana and Haydamaky have also taken to the stage in recent years. If you can’t make it to the festival, be sure to stop at Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival Boutique! Here you will find handmade jewelry, tradition Ukrainian gifts, craft supplies and more, year round.

Trembowla Cross of Freedom

This tranquil National and Provincial Heritage Site lies just 20 minutes north of Dauphin, but it will take you back over a century in time. The site and museum honours the first Ukrainian Catholic Liturgy held in Canada in 1897, and is home to the oldest preserved Ukrainian Catholic church in Canada – St.Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.
