PLNs and PLEs Round 2
If you read my previous blog post, it's safe to say that you have a pretty good understanding of how I feel about this topic. However, even I can't be a Negative Nancy all the time, and have to admit that there are some positives to come out of my PLN/PLE (because I've got them, whether I want them or not).
Here are the Top 5 Things that occured thanks to my Personal Learning Network (#BU755)
1. My Twitter account had been on hiatus since 2014. Thanks to having to remember my password for Twitter as part of #BU755, I was schooled about teaching spelling by a literacy prof - 10 times
2. Kirsten's Blogpost inspired me to try and help a colleague tackle a very challenging class in an "out-of-the-box" approach to better meet student needs by using technology to handle the mundane tasks so she has more time to work with students.
3. I was introduced to Quizziz by Chris and Suzanne and used it for some very quick and informal data on student progress in a Multiplication Math Group I am leading.
4. I shared a blogpost I wrote about Digital Activism with a colleague, and she now has her entire PLC taking up the cause and engaging students in environmental and digital activism.
5. I started following Mitchell Middle School on Instagram after hearing Andrew Mead share his views on social media at school during one of our course Zoom sessions. I have appreciated the glimpse into another middle school, and it has opened my eyes to some things that may be possible within my own building.
There is a pretty real chance that my Twitter account will go quiet again after December 9th, however if classmates keep blogging I will more than likely keep reading :)
